About HomeCycle

HomeCycle is a free at-home service, to donate reusable household goods.

Free collection service for Whitehorse residents. Book without leaving home.

Donate items to reduce reusable items sent to landfill and support local charities and relief organisations.

The program will commence on August 7th 2024.
Limit of one pick-up per household and bookings are limited.

Step 1

Book prior to 7th of August 2024 by clicking ‘Book your HomeCycle Collection’, or over the phone by calling (03) 9386 8702. Download the brochure for a detailed list of accepted and unaccepted items.

Step 2

Box or bag items separately, in to household items, including clothing, shoes and handbags. Larger items that cannot be placed in a box, place neatly next to the other items.

Leave items outside in a safe and accessible spot near your front door the night before your collection day. Please ensure no other items are left by your front door and collected by mistake.

Step 3

The accepted items will be collected on your booked collection day and an SMS notification will be sent once items are collected.

What we can pick up?

Homewares, clothing, bed linen, e-waste, sporting goods, toys, shoes, small household items, small and large furniture including baby prams in clean and reusable condition suitable for reuse. Includes worn or torn materials.

Clean, reusable, worn and torn children’s and adult’s clothing.

• Shoes

Children and adults, pairs and odds.

• Fashion accessories

Shoes, hats, handbags, belts and jewellery.

• Armchairs and 2-seater couches

• Whitegoods

Washing machines, dryers and single-door fridges.

• Baby items & hard toys

Prams, strollers, highchairs and car seats.

• Musical instruments

• TV’s

Smaller than 80cm.

• Small electrical items

Microwaves, kettles, toasters, lamps, heaters and fans.

• Homewares

Cutlery, crockery and utensils.

• Coffee table

No glass tops.

*Items with rust or physical damage (excludes clothing) will not be collected.

Food scraps, building or commercial waste, liquids and hazardous chemicals, medical waste, car parts, polystyrene, pillow inserts and doonas, soiled or damaged items not suitable for reuse or repurpose (excluding Worn and Torn)

The following items are not accepted:

  • Mirrors and large picture frames
  • Ovens, cooktops and 2-door fridges
  • Walkers, cots, baby chairs and play equipment
  • Sporting machines
  • Outdoor settings and BBQs
  • Batteries
  • Pillows doonas and electric blankets
  • Single chairs
  • Mattresses
  • 3-seater+ couches, sofa beds, futons, bed frames
  • Tyres
  • Books and records
  • TVs – larger than 80cms
